Event planning is a fun and exciting process, but it has lots of components you have to be on top of! All these details, when given enough attention, will help make your next event a true success. One of these important components is picking a venue for your event.
While this may seem like a simple task, there are a lot of things to keep in mind when selecting the perfect location. So… how do you do it? Not to worry! We here at ePly have a few suggestions to help you along the way.
Be Thorough
Even if you think you already know a potential location, make sure to be thorough and explore all of your options! Every city, even if it’s one you know well, has some hidden gems that could be perfect for your event and be more unique. Make sure to check out all your options, so that way you can be sure you are picking the ideal location. You never know what you will find, and it could be a steal!
Be Realistic
One of the best things about event planning is the room for creativity. That said however, make sure your creative view is realistic with your funds and resources. On a tighter budget? Maybe don’t pick the fanciest hotel in the area. Have a lot of attendees that need accessible entrances? Maybe don’t pick the rooftop bar that’s only accessible via staircase. Before picking a venue, make sure you have discussed budget, resources and what realistically you can accomplish with this event. This way, you know ahead of time what locations are even worth considering.
Fit the Venue to YOUR Event
When picking a venue, make sure to think beforehand what you hope to accomplish with your event. What kind of vibe are you going for? Is there a specific theme you have to adhere to? What do you want the environment to be like? These are all important questions to keep in mind when looking at venues. You want to make sure the venue you ultimately pick has the environment and the vibe you’re going for. For example, if you are trying to host a casual happy hour, maybe a 5 star hotel isn’t the best idea. One of the best ways to figure if the location will work with what you’re envisioning is to do a site visit! That way, you can feel in person whether it has the environment you have in mind.
Picking the right location for your event can be one of the more tricky parts of planning an event, but it doesn’t have to be! With these tricks in mind, you can clearly evaluate your different options and select the venue that is right for you and your event. In search of a conference event app?
